Summer Learning Journey: Week 1 Day 1 Activity 1
This week we started on our first activity for week 1. For this activity we had to list 10 foods that we would choose to take on a ocean voyage. I picked food that wouldn't need to be refrigerated, this was quite hard as most of these foods are not really tasty to people.

Activity 8: When the Rubber Hits the Road
Karlos - I have accomplished being confident while speaking in a crowd. I feel like this is a great achievement because now I can talk without feeling nervous
Jayden - I have accomplished getting better at tennis by the years. I think this a good achievement because I think I can become a professional tennis.
Giovanni - Winning a reward in the First New Zealand Lego League Competition. This was a great accomplishment for me because it was my first time experiencing.
For the 8th activity we had for the task today was to learn about 3 people's accomplishments. Something I found interesting was Jayden getting better at Tennis and wanting to become a professional tennis player.
Summer Learning Journey : Week 1 Day 2 Activity 2
For this activity, please think about this issue of the gender pay gap carefully. It is quite controversial (some people agree with it and some people disagree with it).
On your blog, tell us what you think. Is it fair? Why or why not? Be sure to explain exactly why you feel the way that you do.

I think that the gender wage gap (at least in sports) is false, the amount of money that a sport receives is based on the attention that it gathers. Football is the most watched sport in the world, and therefor, its players will earn more money than players of rugby. You might say that it's sexist for women to be paid less than their male counterparts but I say that it's just the factor of attention. The main reason why females are paid less than men is because they're weaker. Men are genetically stronger than women, and that's why whenever a transgender man joins a female league, they'd dominate the competition. Tell me, when the male and female rugby world cups were on; which match lineups would you pay more attention to? What team would you care more about? The reason for male sports being more popular is due to their strength, in a sport like rugby it's far more entertaining to see huge guys crash into each other, than it is to watch smaller women do the same thing.

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi Sport we played Ki o Rahi, in order to play this game you need to be in 2 teams, 1 teams is called Taniwha. Taniwha is the attack team, they have to throw the ball against the defending team. The defending team would block the Taniwha from getting a goal.

Maths / Problem
During this week for maths, there was a challenge. A challenge that required 4 people in a group each, Jayden, Sela, Giovanni, Angela and I worked as a group. First off, we had a budget of $200, we had to use that $200 to survive a whole week with food. This was kinda of difficult because we had to feed each person in our group.
Tennis
This week we had another session of Tennis. Before we got into the actual practice, we were given a warm up to stretch our arms and legs. After the warm up game, he taught us a skill called (volley). It is when you strike the ball before it bounces towards the ground.

Market Day
This term PBS planned a market day, each class made their own products. Those products would be sold at school. The currency was tokens, to get tokens you would have to exchange real currency. Our class (LS2) used wasted crayons to create Rainbow Crayons. They were formed as a Butterfly. Most classes were selling plants, Room 1 plants sold extremely fast. After the market day, we came back with $96 dollars. We also spended $6 dollars on plastic bags, so the total amount of our earning was $88 dollars.
