Food Tech
This week was our last session for Food Tech. This time we made (Thai Fish Cake). This dish was extremely delicious but was spicy at the same time. I think that if we decreased the amount of chili flakes we added it would've turned out better. The ingredients we used were Brown Sugar, Fish Sauce, Onion, Coriander, Boneless Fish, Canola Oil and Chili Flakes. What I found difficult was to stabilize the fish cake in its form. What I found easy was cutting the coriander into small pieces. The thing I need to work on is adding down the correct measurements for some ingredients. Thank you Mrs Hecker for the cookings. Im currently look forward for our next rotation.

Persuasive Speeches
LI: To write a speech that persuades others to think the way you do.
Last week Panmure Bridge School had a Speech Competition. Only three people from LS2 were allowed to enter the competition. The three people chosen from LS2 had to have good eye contact, loud voice that is clear and good writing enough to hook in the audience. The people who didn't have enough confident would say their speech to a small group of people.
Hello my name is Joseph, I've been wondering how life would be if I went 50 years into the future, would the environment be healthy or would it be flooded with chaos? I think that the future reflects on us, whether we treat it with respect or we destroy it by acting selfishly. How do you think our world will end up, as we are currently treating it?
Paragraph 2 - About 1 million marine animals are dying from plastic each year because of our careless decisions. Just imagine if in the future the sea was empty with nothing but the reflection of the sun. Would you be proud? By acting in our own ways we have been selfish, careless, and ungrateful. We have been selfish by littering, we have been careless for not recognizing the situation we have caused and we have been ungrateful for not realizing the gift of environment we have been given. This proves that no human is perfect in this world.
Plastic… it may be a simple material but it can cause many disasters. Burning plastic creates polluted air as your releasing poison chemicals. Inhaling polluted air can cause damage to health whether its human or animal. Even if you throw plastic into the ocean, it’ll kill tons of turtles, Just imagine dreaming about poor sea animals dying right before our eyes as we continue to litter plastic, especially turtles they suffocate to death when consuming plastic bags or can cause physical distress, let's not blame the plastic, let's blame ourselves.
Learning about what plastic can cause has taught me a lot of things. Just because plastic could be something small in the present doesn’t mean it could be big in the future. The future is in our hands, so why not make a better tomorrow for the next generations.
I mean most of the people don’t even care if they litter, little do they know what the future lies ahead for their children and grandchildren. STOP LITTERING!!

Swimming
This week on thursday we went swimming, we learnt lots of new techniques during the session. The technique I like the most was the stream line. The point of swimming wasn't mainly about having fun but was mostly for water safety. We were asked by our instructors (James) would we rather have a broken leg or a broken head. If I accidently fell into a river, I would rather face my leg towards the rocks then than my head. I could live with a broken leg, but with a broken head I would suffer or even die. Water safety lesson could help you in different kind of situations. After we had to swim across the water without touching the ground, this was fun because there were lots of techniques I learnt.

Slide Show/ Motat
This week our school went to Motat to learn about steam which is our inquiry topic for term 3. This slide show, shows us what we did at motat. At motat we had to make a car out of cardboard, battery packs, skewer motor, fans and straws. Which was fun as we had to work collaborative and share our ideas. We explored lots of different places at motat.

Kiwi Can - Emotions
This week for Kiwi Can our topic was Emotions. While talking about emotion we had to group up with people and create an act that was based on what we were given. Each group had different acts because we were given different emotions. Our act event was hosted at the zoo, we also added lions to scare the children to try show what caused the kid to be frightened and to show it was at the zoo.
